Dr. Ryan Milan ND, graduated from Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. His special interests focus on mid-life health. Common health concerns in this area include cardiovascular disease, endocrine/hormonal imbalances, and diabetes. Endocrine imbalances can result from the dysfunction of thyroid, adrenal glands, and reproductive organs (i.e. menopause and andropause). Sometimes, the organ specific dysfunction is a result of auto-immune conditions. Dr. Milan’s approach starts with an initial emphasis on lifestyle modification, including exercise, diet and sleep. This is followed by interventions from botanical, homeopathic and traditional Chinese medicine, to provide a well-rounded and sustainable naturopathic treatment plan.

Dr. Milan graduated with an Honours specialization in physiology and pharmacology under the Schulich faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, at University of Western Ontario. He later did his Master’s program in Physiology, studying gender specific orthopaedic surgical approaches for knee and hip replacements for patients suffering from Osteo-arthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis. The Master’s program was funded by the Canadian Institute of Health Research and Joint & Motion program. This clinical research also provided insight to many bed-side variables that can be used in preventative strategies in chronic care, to improve quality of life and activities of daily living in patients suffering from degenerative joint disease.

Naturopathic care is best used in conjunction with allopathic/conventional medicine. Most often, Dr. Milan collaborates with your family doctor/specialist, to provide an effective adjunctive naturopathic care. This integrative approach uses a team of practitioners to provide you the best services for your health and well-being.
